MYP 3’s "Currents to Climate" IDU: A Deep Dive into Energy Sustainability

On 1st April 2025, MYP 3 students launched their Interdisciplinary Unit (IDU) titled "Currents to Climate", a collaborative exploration between Sciences and Individuals & Societies.

Focused around the driving question, “In what ways do our energy choices shape the future of ecosystems and biodiversity?”, the unit challenges students to step into the shoes of researchers addressing energy sustainability in extreme biomes like the Arctic Tundra, Amazon Rainforest, and Sahara Desert.

Throughout this hands-on unit, students will design eco-friendly Survival Energy Kits, complete with functional circuits and solar/wind models, while documenting their journey through Expedition Reports and Survival Vlogs. This dynamic project combines science, creativity, and environmental awareness, offering students a powerful lens through which to tackle real-world challenges and explore sustainable solutions for the future.
