From the Chairman.

When we began, more than thirty years ago, we did not set out to build a large company. We set out to build a good one — and then another.

I have always believed that the institutions worth building are the ones that outlast the people who build them. A school that shapes a child's life long after the founder has gone. A kitchen whose standards hold whether or not anyone is watching. A technology that quietly makes thousands of lives easier. These are not the work of a quarter, or even a year. They are the work of decades.

That belief has guided every decision the Group has made. When we launched North India's first International Baccalaureate school, we did so because we believed an Indian institution could stand among the finest in the world — not eventually, but from the first day. The same conviction now runs through our work in technology, in hospitality, and in the care of fine estates.

We have grown slowly, and on purpose. We have entered only those fields where we believed we could build something of lasting value, and we have left them to be run by people who know them far better than I do. My own role, increasingly, is to hold the standard steady while a new generation brings fresh capability to it.

To those who study with us, work with us, and trust us with their institutions: thank you. We do not take that trust lightly. It is, in the end, the only thing a business like ours is really built on.
